Custom Learning Designs (CLD) is hiring its first dedicated
Senior Recruiter to establish and own the company's internal recruiting function. In this high-visibility role, you will build and operate a scalable recruiting engine supporting CLD's continued growth, with a primary focus on revenue-generating teams and roles, including both full-time employees and freelance/contract talent.
About Custom Learning Designs Custom Learning Designs is a rapidly growing sales training organization with more than 45 years of experience working with leading pharmaceutical companies across a wide array of therapeutic indications. CLD partners with small and large-cap pharma and biotech, life science, and medical device companies to develop training and learning deliverables that enhance knowledge, sales performance, and competency among commercial and medical teams. Headquartered in Boston, MA, CLD partnered with RiverGlade Capital in 2025 and is currently in an aggressive growth phase, making the development of a scalable recruiting function a top strategic priority.
Job Requirements - Own full-cycle recruiting for the organization's evergreen and recurring hiring needs
- Partner closely with the internal HR Manager, VP of Operations, department leaders, and hiring managers to align recruiting activity with business needs
- Build and maintain a warm bench of freelance and contract talent who can be quickly activated to support customer demand and project needs
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with high-quality freelance and contract professionals
- Develop sourcing strategies and talent pipelines that support both recurring and growth-driven hiring
- Work within and help evolve the ATS, candidate pipeline, and sourcing tools established during the recruiting function's buildout
- Maintain and report on standard recruiting metrics and use data to drive continuous improvement
- Champion a strong candidate experience and consistent employer brand across internal hiring
- Balance speed, quality, and flexibility while building sustainable talent pipelines
- Establish and improve recruiting processes and systems that can support CLD as the organization scales
Qualifications - 5-8 years of full-cycle recruiting experience
- Proven track record of meeting recruiting metrics and KPIs in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to operate independently as a "team of one," with strong self-direction, organization, and process-building skills
- Experience partnering with external recruiting and staffing vendors as collaborators
- Strong working knowledge of ATS platforms and recruiting technology
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility with hiring managers, HR, and leadership
- Exposure to or understanding of private equity-backed or portfolio company environments is a plus
- Familiarity with the pace, reporting expectations, and growth mandates common in PE-backed operations is a plus
- Experience in the pharmaceutical services industry or medical writing is a plus
- Must be based in the Central or Eastern Time Zone
This is a ground-floor opportunity for a
Senior Recruiter who wants to build and own a new internal recruiting function while having a direct and visible impact on CLD's growth trajectory. You will have the support of an established external recruiting partner during the buildout while working as an individual contributor with high visibility across the organization.
Compensation & Benefits This full-time, remote position offers a base salary of
$80,000 plus a target of $45,000 in commissions , with a quarterly commission plan and full-time benefits. The compensation structure is intentionally weighted to reward strong recruiting metrics.
